First I will tell you our budget, we both get about $123 a month in US
dollars, so it ends up to be about $246 that we have to work with for the month
it gets just a little crazy towards the end of the month, because
you have to pay for shipping and handling on your food, top ramen is about $.89
so we pretty much have to live on that for the whole month, we do get a little
variety, like we have found some cheap chicken nuggets that we have been eating,
and also some things called parogies, they are mashed potatoes in some pastry
type thing they are really good you cook them up and have them in ranch, and
they don't have hidden valley ranch only Great Value, No Name, and those other
western family brands for Canada. we live off the No Name brand. and then when
you have to get the $51 drivers licence that takes a large chunk out of it all,
in fact I couldn't pay for it with my allotment card I had to use my home card.
The mission home should be reimbursing me for it in the
coming week or so, it takes about a week to get through everything. By the time that I get my licence who knows if I will be here in Manitoba anymore. It takes
about 30 days for background checks and everything then they will send me my new drivers licence.
Well now more about Elder Radford, he had a brother that served in the Provo
mission and even served in Orem for a time, so if you remember a Elder Radford
that was in Orem that was him. I haven't taken him to the museum to see the
crazy wolf yet but some time I will. I found out that one of the people that
works at the museum is a Jehovah's, she is the only one that likes us, we went to
one of there meetings last night and we saw here there she was the only one with
a pleasant look on her face when she saw us.
You where also asking about pioneer day, we didn't do anything really special for
it but we where able to go to the 7th annual pioneer fire side that the church
put on in salt lake city, they sent it over the satellight so after fixing it we
where able to go and see that on Sunday.
Oh yesterday I got Beer sprayed all over me. We were helping
a drunk man and talking to him, his name was Joseph, and well he has a whole
case of beer that he had drank nearly most all of it and only had a few cans
left, he called us over to talk to him, he knew who we where, and he also
asked us to help him walk, but he also said that he wanted us to help him carry
his beer, I didn't want to walk down the street carrying a case of beer, I have
done that enough already, so I told him that he had to carry it but we could
help him walk. well he also didn't want to carry it so he opened all of the cans
that he had left and dumped them out, well they where pretty much shaken up so
when he opened them they exploded all over the place and I thought that I was
standing far enough back, I was wrong, he aimed the can at me and opened and it
got all over my pants. Luckily we where heading back for dinner anyway so I was
able to change out of my beer covered pants and get into some clean ones. Lets
just say that I don't think that those pants will ever smell the same, just kind
of yeasty.
Well I will let you know how the drive is next week, we are leaving tomorrow to
go to Brandon, just so you can track it and see the road for yourself, we will
start on highway 6 to Ponton and then we will just keep on heading straight on to
I think highway 36 or something like that, and we will go through The Pas
(pronounced: The Pa ?!?!) and hop on to highway 10 to Brandon. we will go
through some providential forests so I will try and get some pics for you and
send them.
I love you sooooooo much. KOHL
