I'm still in Saskatoon!
So we were up till about 11:00p.m. last night waiting for the phone call that never came so that means that Elder Ray and myself are staying together in St.Charles for another six weeks, and we are still looking for some more people to teach, things are going slow. Julie's baptism went well we just found out that the ward had something planned for the same day and almost the same time just an hour earlier so there were not as many people there as we would have liked. Her family did not really support it. She quit smoking in less then a week and they did not think that she could do it. One of her friends came and there were a few investigators there and the sisters missionaries. There were a few people from the ward, her visting teachers, the ward mission leader and a person from the bishopric to preside over the meeting. The font was one thing that we really worried about, Elder Ray and I were typing up the program at Brother Wanner’s house just before the baptism and he asked us who was filling the font, both Elder Ray and I looked at each other and printed off the program and ran out the door to get to the church and fill the font for the baptism just an hour before it started. Well we got to the church and stared filling up the font. Only cold water was coming out of the faucet and we were not sure why. We asked the Sister Missionaries when they showed up and they said that you had to have the water on for 20 minutes, and then off for 20 minutes so that the water will heat up. It was to close to the Baptism to do this so we were using pots and pans everything that could hold water and brought warm water from the kitchen to try and warm up the font. The sisters even started to boil the water to get the font hotter but that idea did not last long. All down the hallway there were drops of water on the floor where we were running with the buckets to fill the font. It all went well for the most part. I did get some pictures though she did not want us to take any. About the pants I was talking to Bro. Wanner and he does some tailoring (he makes his own kilts). He said that if I would bring my pants over some time he would take them in for me and then there are some people in some of the other cities that do free alterations on suits for missionaries so that is nice. Today’s activity wasn't as much fun as the gallery of chairs and pictures of drugs we saw last week, I forgot to mention the drug part last week the other half of the chair gallery was native paintings and most of them had some type of drugs in them which was a little weird. Today we said good-bye to the Sisters who had to leave early to the transfer meeting. Sister Bench is training this transfer. Then with the other Elders, we went and got some whoppers and had a lunch at the church and played foosball it got intense I mean really intense, but it was all fun and nice to do something other than basketball or volleyball. Things that I need...you know me I cannot really think of anything. I still have not found out what that money from Grandma and Grandpa Ludwig is for but I should be getting a letter any day now telling me what it is for. Today is a nice spring day it is about -1c or something close to that so you can walk around without a coat and it feels good and the snow is starting to melt it will be nice to get rid of some of those 7' walls of snow that are all over the place. The people here are worried they say that with all the snow it is bound to flood the city and most people have basements, so they are watching out for that. That is all that is happening here. I love you all, KOHL
